SUMMARY
The Paperman is a short animated film by Disney. The story begins at a train station where one man is waiting for the train. A piece of paper glides pass the man and a lady follows. The lady recollects her paper and the mans paper flies into her face. She returns his paper left with a lipstick stain, and runs for her train. The man goes work, where he really doesn't belong, doing paperwork. In his toxic work environment he looks out the window to find the same lady he encountered at the train station. He tries his best to get her attention, but because she's in the other building across the street, she doesn't seem to notice. He takes his paperwork and starts making paper planes to through out the window to her. He goes through his entire stack of paperwork but doesn't get any paper planes to her. At last he uses his last piece of paper, which was the one with her lipstick stain. The wind takes away his paper plane and it doesn't get to her. He runs out of his office and tries to find the lady but instead he is taken away by all his paper planes. The paper planes lead him back to the train station where he first met the lady. At the same time the lady finds a paper airplane with her lipstick stain, and she follows it back to the train station too. Finally, they turn around and meet again.
FAVOURITE MOMENT OF " THE PAPERMAN"
My favourite part of Paperman is the first scene where the man's piece of paper flies into the lady's face, leaving behind her lipstick print.
This is my favourite moment because it is the initial incident, and you know the story is going to revolve around this moment. I also enjoyed it because it was a very strong initial incident. The body language of the characters and everything about the scene was very cute and perfectly done.

REFLECTION
ARTWORK: The artwork of the film was very minimalistic but impactful. The animation used simple line-art and dull black and white colours, with the exception of the lipstick imprint. The black and white shadows and light were done very well. It gave the movement dimension, but did not distract from the film. The coloured lipstick stain was very impactful, it showed significance because it was the main motive. The rest of the animation was very simple. This gave off a cute feeling. The background was very blocky with almost no detail, and the foreground was simply done. The movement of the animation was hidden by the storyline and music. You were not able to tell if the movement was swift or choppy because you would be distracted by the storyline and music.
SOUND: The music of the film really set the mood. The music went with animation and changed with different climatic and neutral scenes. I really enjoyed when the music built up for the ending. It worked very well with the animation and gave it more life.

THE TITLE
When hearing the title of the film i did not expect to see what the film showed. The title did not really capture the film. When creating a title most people come up with things that summarize the film. The Paperman does not really do justice to the film.

SHORT STORY ABOUT SHORTS
Mini cartoons always played before the actual movie. This was especially a Walt Disney tradition. These cartoons would be around 5- 7 minutes, and got you ready for the real film. The tradition stopped for a long time and now the people of Disney have brought it back. Short films often test out new, and different technologies. It is okay to try new things because its not an actual film. It takes less time and money to create. Therefore it is okay if you try something new and fail. If you try something new and it is a success, it can help real films create there animations. For a full length animated film it takes months just for one shot. Full length animated films can take 5- 10 years, while short films only take 6 months to 3 years. Short films give you "instant satisfaction". A powerful short film can be more powerful than a powerful film.
EXTRA
The Paperman received an Oscar.
